Default Custom Gun Rack

Has anyone ever fabricated a gun rack for their XJ? Hunting season is approaching and I need some good ideas for storing my gun while hunting, rather in the passenger seat. Any ideas/photos would be great.

they make those window mounts for trucks and i have thought about screwing them down to the back seat but i haven't done it yet so i can't say that it would work.

if you've got a two door you might get a rack to fit in the rear side windows?

Just scroll down a little to see the mounting they did.

Laying in bed I had an appifany, Get one of those pet dividers and put it behind your seat, they stretch from the floor to the ceiling, and you could install rings/hooks on the divider, I have one and I'll fab it up for you tomorrow just to see if it could work for you

Walmart has some cheap $10 racks that slide expand into the back window seals on pickups. They work great on the back side quarter windows of an XJ. The best part is they come out when not needed. You can also use them to carry your fishing poles.

Old as hell thread, but has anyone got anything new? I'm looking at those cloth ones that cover the entire back of the back seat in the cargo area, but there are 2 issues with it, 1 is that there are no headrests on the back seats and from what I can tell that is how its secured. 2 is that they are more of a pocket style and dont accommodate guns with scopes. So i'm thinking of a more modular design, an almost mollie strap kind of thing. Any new ideas? Pics?
