So my step-dad, boyfriend, and myself just finished my new front bumper.
It started out as 6 feet of 4X6 steel tubing, after much cutting, sanding, some bending, and welding. We then had to modify a brush guard I bought online which was originally made to fit 4X4 tubing, and it was then welded on.
Luckily there was just enough steel left to create brackets, and cap the ends of the bumper. there is only about 5 inches left of the original 6 feet. I then painted it, and we realized it looked good from the front but totally wrong from the side (since we didnt actually bend the bumper in torwards the fenders there was a pretty big gap) so we took those stock rubber ends and cut them with some tin snips and covered up the sides lol
It was definantly a learning experience. My boyfriends Front Bumper is the next project
P.S the Brush Guard is Olympic and the Steel tubing came from Metal Distributors in Fort collins (obviously shown by the stickers) The guy at metal distributors looked at me like I was Loon when I told him I was building a front bumper out of the Steel... Maybe its cause imma Girl =P

It's fun seeing everyone expressions when us gals are talking about cars and welding things. Gotta love being a girl. Great job on the bumper. Looks nice.

I kept the end caps because from the sides there was a pretty big gap between the bumper and my jeep, and we decided it looked funky to just leave the gaps uncovered. so we covered it up, they havent been painted yet so you can see our sharpie line where we decided to cut it =P
