my solution to not having a cup holder, and it was free
|
I took a console out of a '98 XJ and put in my '96. It fits pretty good except for the blank space that's left between the console and dash. That'll just give me a cool spot for more switches or a cb later on though. Also had to put the '98 ebrake in it to solve the alignment with the console, but that wasn't too bad. Only problem I'm having now is the shift boot didn't come with the console and I'm having a hard time finding one. Love having cup holders now though, so it was worth it :)

Jeep95, how exactly did you mount that cupholder?

heres my .02 my cup holder! http://img.tapatalk.com/4c03476e-5f4e-d2fb.jpg
details are in my build thread. |
I just liked the one that mounted to the passenger side of the shifter. Throw 2 screws in the top and it won't move, plus it looks stock (because it is)
|
They also work on the rear doors too. the bolt patyern is the same as the monting screws on the rear door handle and window switch trim. I put them in for my boys in the back since ther are no cup holders in the back of our XJs. $10 fix.
