Hey guys I’m getting ready to build my sub frame on my Comanche Crew Cab build. I’m using the original Comanche bed on frame, I’m planing on creating a frame stiffener/sub frame that ties into rocker panels, that will tie in with a the Comanche bed frame. Has anyone done anything similar with the unibody frame on the XJ or MJ? Please post any pictures of frame/unibody tie ins, and any wisdom on similar fabrication.
I’ve shortened the bed 6” front and 6” rear, to adjust for height I’m made this insert plate that will have some plug weld holes drilled, and I’m leaning towards cutting out the gussets on the rear Comanche cab to be able to use a continuous frame stiffener to beef up and re shape the Comanche bed on frame in order to compensate for height in unibody frame and bed on frame, the plate stiffened/sub frame will be 3 sides of the unibody frame and 3 sides in the Comanche bed on frame
