cowl hood??

Default cowl hood??

i have seen lots of people make hood scoops and vents.. but has anybody made a home brue cowl hood??? i have an extra hood laying around and i was just thinking it would be cool to make a cowl hood with a couple vents in it..

i will...its pretty tough not to warp the thin metal when welding it, thats about the only hard part.

about the warping try using panel bond instead of welding it and just a few spot welds if any. we used it at the body shop to do roof door trunk skins as well as 1/4 panels. also try all metal instead of bondo. its a filler material but its more weather resistant and dont crack and shrink like bondo. with the flex of a hood the bondo will crack and flake out.

mines already fully welded, ground down, and bondo'd. Spot welds work a lot better than stitches on this sheet metal...not too worried about the warping...ill bang out what i can, then sand it down and give it a few coats of herculiner. should come out decent.

That would be a bad design for a DD... I dont think your sensors would be too happy with water pouring in.
