So I have been going over some various ideas in my head about how to tackle my rust problem, courtesy of the Minnesota Department of Transportation's salt disbursement policy.
Any way..Besides my deteriorating rocker panels, The areas of the lower rear fenders are basically gone. I'm still debating what to do with the rockers. Replace with OEM type rockers or the good ole square tube mod. I dont wheel much (no where to go close to the metro). But my main question is this. I was going to cut the areas of rust out from the lower rear quarter panels. I have noticed that the 97' and newer rear bumper end caps wrap around and go all the way to the wheel well, Unlike my 93'. so you can see where I'm going with this. Anybody know of, seen, done, heard of 97' end caps on a 93'. I know I would have to cut the fender flair. At this point in time i'm not to concerned about approach and departure angles or tires rubbing it's my DD (for now). I will be building it over a long period of time, not much $$$$. My ultimate vision for it is a some what mild trail rig (ya thats how it always starts).
Thoughts?

Best thing to do is go to the cherokee photos page. There you can see any and all pictures of people's rigs and see what they have done. You might get some ideas from that. I am not sure myself what to do as I have the 87 and I just took all the plastic junk straight off.
Good luck!
