Box rockers and floor repair?
Can someone who has done rockers from square tube to xj, advise me? Is it easier to do when you have floors out. I plan to do new floors and rockers and was thinking which to do first. thanks already for helping.

I would do one or the other first. not both at the same time. since there is no frame on these Cherokee's you may run the risk of tweaking the body. I would box the Rockers first and then do the floor. Doing the Rockers first will give you a strong back bone so things don't get out of alignment.

LOOking very good and thanks for advises, Boxes first sounds reasonable. but I have to use tube sizes what are available here, jonboy: you used 2"x6"? We dont have that size here in finland. Ill have to make some measurements and do a sketchup to show. I can afford welder after the christmas, so no hurry now. Im thinking of new Kemppi minarcmig evo 180A inverter with a mixgas, sad here is no used ones available, thats because those are so dam good machines.

I have mine go all the way back to the unibody and as you can see it comes past the door about an inch you can probably get away with 5 in wide and I would not go more than 3 in high and i would go with 3/16s thick not 1/4 like I did but that is what I had laying around. I am just a small town country boy but are you guys metric over there

Yes, metric here. I found seller for 150x50x5mm rectangular tube, it's 6"x2" and ~3/16", (other options are 4"x2" 5/32" and 4 3/4"x2 3/8" and 5/32-3/16").

No I just have the pic of them finished but all I did was make a series of passes to build it up and blend it together nicely it was not easy that's for sure but it was worth the effort

I'm hoping to do my rockers tomorrow. I am going to use 6x2 3/16. Have them cut to 54" I believe. Did my driver floor pan already but am doing rockers before passenger side because they have worse rust than the passenger floor pan a want them fixed before the winter and salt set in here in Ohio.

Started working with these. Bought welder and some tube and angle iron.
I welded 4x2 and 2x2 together, ends up to be very strong this way. 2x2 is little thinner and goes innerside. Here is some photos of progress..
