Default Another custom bumper build

After seeing all of the custom bumper builds on here i figured i would give one a try. I wanted something simple but solid so i bought some 2''x6'' 1/4" tube steel and started.

where are your tow points? why would you build a nice bumper like that and not add in shackle mounts?

There will be tow points real soon, i just dont know if i want shackles or a reciever hitch in the middle. And the mounts are just a couple of inches longer to add in another bolt.

Damn, I like it even more! Super clean... id cap the ends to keep dirt and water out, especially if the inside isn't painted. Good stuff!

Thanks man! I left them open for now to run off road light wires a little easier for when I get a light bar on it. Its definately a work in progress right now.

I like it. If you're considering recovery points though, be sure to extend your mounting points to at least incorporate the three steering box bolts as well as the opposite three bolt holes for six bolts per side. The unibody needs all that extra length to spread the load of a pull.

Hey thanks guys and yeah man I will get you a good drawing with the dimensions to make it pretty easy. And yeah I saw the extended mounting brackets on pretty much every CJ bumper so I figured it was necessary

Excellent !! It's no fun repairing a crumpled unibody or even worse, hurting somebody in the recovery process.
