another conduit roof rack
So i started this build with 40 feet of conduit, cost 26 bucks
the rack is only 3 ft by 5 ft and 6 in up i dont like my roof racks like i do my RACKS -huge-
on each ten foot length i mesured 1.5 feet from center so its a gap of 3ft total
on those marks i bent outwards a 90 degreee bend
if you law that down end to end you have your bottom base.
then i found some 3 foot lenghts and cut more conduit with this device
this hole saw made it so i could cut into conduit and make the end round so i can fit 2 bars together.
this is the beginning i will finish writing when i have time.
thanks and comment.

i cut both ends of 8 pieces of pipe in the angle that way so it will fit in the bars
slide them in place a grind the chrome finish off good, you dont want to weld galvanized zinc coating cause you will fell sick and get a bad head ache.
keep doin that for both sides and once there is as many cross supports as you want attach both ends together, you can butt weld them together ore use 3/4 in couplings and replace the screws with self tappers so it doesn't fall apart.

after you finish doing that i got a plate of 1/8 inch steel and cut that into 1.5 by 6in rectangles then drilled 2 holes on the end of each piece i did 8 pieces but you can do more easily.
I used self tappers to hold those plates.
I was impressed by how well this started to look and it is strong.
Some finishing touches
more plates
and then your done the build
To hold it on your roof i used muffler clamps and straped 4 of the corners on the 2 stock bars that are on the roof
to paint it i used bed liner a lot of coats 3 cans worth i will geeet some good pics in the morning of the rack

It holds up surprisingly well for conduit i have thrown my fair share of steel hi-lifts, come-alongs a so forth and it only scratches the paint,
and if you tighten the clamps enough it stays fine, doesnt look the best with
clamps but it work good.
