Default Another Conduit Roof Rack

I just built a conduit roof rack and figured I would share. It was $58 for parts at lowes. Here is the parts list:

8-pre-bend 1" 90's
3 1" sticks (10 foot)
6 3/4" sticks (5 foot)

Cut list:
2- 47" long 1" conduit
2- 53" long 1" conduit
5- 46" long 3/4" conduit
8- 6" long 3/4" conduit
2- 8" long 3/4" conduit

The 1" is used to make the hoops and the 3/4" is used for the cross bars and the uprights. I didn't take any pics while building. Just remember it is galavanized so you want to sand the edges. I used some old ladder racks for the mounts. I am pulling it back off the jeep today to paint it.

How the jeep looked when I bought it

Personally, I think it's too tall. Either way, you did nice work.

I like it, but I'm a little bias.

It turned out taller than I wanted but I am ok with it. I have 4, 6" round lights for the front and 2 rectangle lights for the rear. I also plan on mounting a high lift jack to one side and a shovel on the other. And the spare goes on top. I think once it is fully loaded it will look better.

The ladder racks were bolt together. The end plates were the mounts. I cut them in half and welded the lower portion to the rack. I can get a better pic tomorrow.

Thanks Dan, It was almost a free jeep and I now have about $800 in the jeep how it sits now. It is a 99 with 90K on the clock. Box tube rocker panels and a new front bumper are the next projects.

Yep, It is light one person can handle it. There is a full size spare and a high lift jack under the tree.
