Default All Nighter Stinger Build

Me and my buddy decided last night that I needed a new bumper before morning. We gathered scrap materials and started mapping out designs for a Baja style stinger bumper and this is what we ended up with.

Stingers a bit on the huge side, but to each is own. Remember, gussets are your friend.

Won't that just fold up if you actually had to use it?

Thanks guys and I DO plan on reinforcing it, I was just short on materials and cash, so it is what it is for now. I did however butt up to a tree in 2wd and slowly press the gas and she spun tires (given I was in dirt but still) the stinger itself flexed 1/2" or so back seeing as its 30" long but it kept its shape great and none of the welds or anything failed. It was made of steel pipe not tubing so it is pretty Robust.

Good budget job. Can we get more pics and a short description of how it mounts?

if you have another long piece of "pipe", i would start over and bend the hoop using heat and an old brake rotor with integrated studs. that way the tip is round. it looks odd with the flat top. just my opinion.

if you like it, that's all that matters. otherwise good job.

I think I just might do that, It is a bit bigger than I invisioned so that would give me a chance to shorten it a few inches too. Besides i'm not to happy with the lack of metal at the corners since i welded it and rounded it off with the grinder. Doing a bend would be a ton more durable.

Thanks. I'll take some more pics after work. As for the mounting It simply bolts into the original bumper mounts right now(Drilled two holes on each of the faces and on the plates welded to the bumper) I have some plate that I'm going to make new mounts with when I have a free day. I'll update when I do.
