Default 98 ZJ front winch bumper build

Been planning on getting this done for about 6 months now. Got bored at work last night, started cutting it out

Will start marking holes, mounting brackets, and start grinding/welding Monday. If this works out, will be making a similar one for my XJ

What it will look like when finished (Not my ZJ)

Nicer than what I've seen offered by a lot of different companies, nice work!

Actually, that is a pic of what it will look like when done. Just cut out the pieces for it so far.
The plans for this bumper is on Google sketchup, surprised I haven't seen more of them built....

Took the plastic wannabe bumper off, opened up the frame rail and got the bumper mounts tacked into place. Will mark off the holes I need drilled and get that done later this week. Then its welding time

I am finishing the final fabbing tonight, will start to tack everything together when I get home from work tomorrow morning. I have the templates, will cost you about +/- $130 in steel, will be enough for front and rear bumper. Why buy a harbor freight winch when you can get a superwinch for the same amount? For an extra $100 bones you can get the waterproof one.

I'll help ya, if I can borrow your garage to get some work done to mine........( even if i can't borrow the garage ill still help)

There is a place off of Old Airport Rd. in Wilmington that has really good prices. We can lay out the templates and figure out exactly what u need. I have access to a plasma cutter at work, just gonna need some grinding wheels cause my hand isn't as steady as it used to be. A vendor on this forum has the prerunner bars for $75 shipped, once they are welded on it will make this bumper look sexy

Finally got to start fitting and welding my bumper together. First off I welded the nuts/washers down on the bumper bracket, then mounted brackets and backing plate. Was extremely happy with the hole placement, only had to run a drill bit through one of the holes
