I think you guys must have missed mastrblastr's first post when he clearly said "Nicely done! Looks good."

I agree, they look sweet, but way to jump on the new people. I've read countless threads on this site and may have not posted a ton, but l haven't seen much flaming like that yet.

And if you doubt my ability to build, check out my garage and have a look at my bobber. Built by me---not bought.

kids, kids.. I like them.

I'm looking at getting a welder for half doors. To justify the cost I'm dreaming up other projects. LED light boxes, a roof rack.. and thanks to you, quarter guards have made the list. I'd angle mine to protect the full lower quarter, but those are beef. Nice work.

Stop your flaming

I don't really see the point without any added structure. They're still going to be as weak as the sheet metal. Just bolting on some thicker sheet metal isn't doing much of anything for strength, it's just protecting the sheet metal from getting scratched up and dented, though it'll still bend the whole section.

Running some metal up to bolt behind the tail lights, bumper, or behind that section will help with that.

1/4" is total overkill too. Other than rocker guards and frame ties ins for bumpers nothing on your Jeep needs to be 1/4". Think about whats on it stock, know of anything over 1/8"? Even the frame rails aren't 1/8" inch. Everything has ridges, gussets, ect to strengthen. Structural composition is generally more important than material thickness, most people just go with a thicker material because they don't know how to reinforce something structural.

The countersunk bolts are a nice touch, does a lot for the looks.

In my opinion I think they are better than nothing. Could I have tied them in everywhere? Yes.

Is it nessasary ? No. I'm not a full blown crawler on Dana 60s and 44s lol I'm simply an expedition rig. The little extra protection is just nice to have.

Not trying to **** on your work, just trying to offer some constructive criticism.

Other than small dents and scratches what protection is it offering that area? It's an area prone to getting crushed even on light wheeling rigs but the added plate doesn't do anything to prevent that. I think you might find you have a hard time selling a 6"x9" piece of plate for $55 that doesn't really offer any additional protection.
