I agree.

Dude, Ian just had a bad run in on Ronin so he said he's kind of done with them. So I sent him a PM about starting a CORN forum! I think it'd be great with Ian along. I told him the premise and all that, he just hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I think we should make it completely available to anyone who drives anything off-road. Heeps, Nissans, Toyotas, Chevys, ATVs, Dirt Bikes, whatever! We should have a section for everyone and everything! It should be an unbiased place for any wheeler or any kind! I think with 3 unbiased people in you, Ian, and I we can manage it. Of course the only couple suggestive themes are being in Colorado and being a wheeler, but I wouldn't care who joined! Invite all of these guys once we're done!

You are such a pain Nater.....LOL. I'm glad he beat in the wheel-wells then cut the crap out of a tire :-( Btw...I think a unbiased forum would be cool. You can count the "tag along" in.

I have considered it a bunch of times but it'll be a while. I don't have the money right now and I'm getting ready to ship out to the Navy, so I'll probably look into it when I get back. So far I haven't tried a trail I couldn't do so I'm not too worried about it. Doing a SAS almost seems like a status symbol these days.

Everyone wants to off-road like a Jeep without having to actually be caught dead in a Jeep.

Come on now, I was actually building a sas s10 blazer, I got my heep for the D30 for the front fell in love and kept it. I was going sas because I work in a garage alot and IFS is a night mare for ball joints, idler arms and anything else steering related. Also IFS is expensive to maintain, now a straight axle is much simpler.

I agree, over time you do spend alot more with IFS then you would with solid axle. What I said was meant for people that don't have Jeeps and do a swap up front, so that they can have the benefit of not having to replace broken IFS parts without having to drive a Jeep. I know how you guys feel, this is a Jeep forum.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE JEEPS but what got me interested was a FJ40 back in the 70s. Never had one and still want one.

Haha My first experience 4 wheeling was in a friends '69 (I think) FJ40 back in the mid 70's. Man that thing would go anywhere but was a bear to drive on the street.

Ride, handling, braking, noise, fuel economy, fit and finish, visibility, frontseat comfort, access, reliability
Consumer Reports performs off-road testing at its Connecticut proving grounds, but off-road ability doesn't factor into the final scores.
