Oldsmobile Heat only works well on passanger side
1998 Olds Intrigue. My father was driving it over the summer and said A/C isnt working well on the drivers side. We added some freon thinking maybe it was low. But the Passanger side was freezing cold. The problem wasnt so bad because the car would get pretty cold overall.
Now its getting cold out here. The heat only works well on passanger side and the driver side it luke warm. It sucks on these cold mornings and well when its cold.
To me it sounds like the Door flap isnt opening all the way for the drivers side. It has dual controls for driver and passanger. If I crank the drivers side control from 90F to 60F it gets cold (considering its 20F) out. So the door is moving just not all the way.?
Idk any input would be appreciated. I dont really wanna tear the dash board apart especially since no garage to work in and its cold.
Thanks,

I dont think those had problems with breaking the doors but I could be wrong. I have replaced a few actuators on those GM body types though. I think the one you are looking for is on top of the hvac case behind the glove box and a little to the left. The other temp actuator is on the bottom of the case in about the same location.

If you turn the **** from 90F to 60F the vents start blow cold air, therefore the doors are deffinetly moving and its consistent so I dont suspect broken doors anymore. Therefore its probably a temp sensor or the climate switch.
