The guy that has a summer cabin on the property above me, his G/F has a smart car and he has to mow the driveway just so she can get the stupid thing up the hill, if the grass gets to tall.....the so-called money they saved in gas has been well over spent in the truck loads of gravel just so she doesn't get stuck in the mud.....shoulda bought a Jeep!

The funny thing about that is that the oval shapes on the sides that you see are roll cages that are designed off of the ones used in helicopters. Take a look at a Loach and then a Smart ForTwo. Most people think that they will crumple in a crash like a tin can, but they wont......however if a car doesn't crush at least a little, all the forces are transferred to the driver.

So I whole heartedly back you up on the people not understanding physics thing. It's not going to crush you to death, just send the shock of a 70mph crash into your internal structure (i.e. - the human)
