Mostly by looks with the patriot, when jeep came out with the XJ it was a compact version of the SJ. XJ is the compact jeep, the patriot is the compact jeep that is boxy like the XJ. The commander looks like the XJ on steroids, I don't hate it, it just looks like a jeep minivan. I would be nice to get a patriot and ditch the IFS and rear suspension, and put straight axles and a 4.0

Why not just get a solid front axle on a liberty. It is the replacement for Cherokee and still called the Cherokee overseas. It IS what Chrysler did to the Cherokee.

Just watched the XK video at the loading dock... that's pretty slick. I thought this "Quadra-Drive" marketing lingo was just the transfer case.

Me likey... front end is starting to look a little H3ish though... That XK should clean up nicely with a roof rack, CB antenna that allows you to talk forward, and some bigger shoes. The 16" Moabs work well

The only Liberty I would want is the CRD, other than that they are the ugliest sorry excuse for a jeep IMHO

I like the notion of the CRD, but you mean to say you've never seen a Compass?

Wonder if you could put the 84-96 front clip on it

I dont care for the Jeep 2500s. My commander is cool, HORRIBLE gas mileage, LARGE interior, 3 rows of seats or a nice cargo area. I belong to a commander forum and there are some SICK *** rigs on there.

How bad is bad mileage? I have really consider one of these, if I end up having all the kids I want we won't fit in am XJ anymore.

I have the Commander that the lady drives and that we use for the weekends etc. My XJ is stricktly to and from work and for the trails. (I live 2 miles from my work.

Bad mileage is 14-15 on country roads...a few stop lights.

Damn seems it would get better that. It does kinda share the flying brick shape as the XJ though.
