Looking for a little 4 banger
of some sort and was looking for opinions from people as my 4.0 is the smallest engine I've ever owned. What in your alls opinions would be the most viable gas saver with good tuner perspectives further down the Road? Looking for something that would have decent stock power with plenty of after market upgrades. Also reliability would be a huge plus! Any opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

If you want something american made 4dr hatch get a dodge omni you can get them with a 2.2 turbo and man are the amazing i had an 86 and it boogied. Only problem with them is the wiring is very dated and its hard to find them not rotted to pieces. I personally hate hondas but if they are built right and turboed they will move

I found a 6 speed Nissan Sentra last year, it gets about 38 mpg. I love it but it felt big in comparison to my Celica which I drove for almost 3 years before I just couldn't deal with it crapping out on me every few months. I like the sentra for the most part, sometimes it feels a little top heavy but it is probably the roomiest car I have owned, besides my short stint with a minivan.
