So after getting a little bored with the same old thing with one of my RC crawler's i decided to revamp and redesign for a more "to scale" look.

Having been missing my old 96 Cherokee for some time now.... (had to sell it
)

i began with the basics.....
tear-down of the crawler and then brainstorming how i want to do this.....

picked up the Proline 1/10th scale jeep cherokee body, and then started a ruff sketch of the frame/chassis. (no uni-body for this XJ
)

cut out the template and then traced it to some 1/4" aluminum plate and then took em out to the garage to the scroll saw.

the frame rails fit just inside the body on either side.

Looks good, I am not complaining here but maybe paint the body clips black and turn the rear clip down to maybe hide them a little in the black color. Also may look good with a little window tinting.

my issue wasn't really the body clips... it was more the frame... i'd like to look at the crawler from the side and see a frame that looks like a 1:1.

nice fab work. I love the RC crawlers and short course trucks. What are ya gonna do about the rear split body mount? Wont the body rock at all left to right?

Bedlined the bottom portion of the body and the fender flares and also finished the head/tail-light housings. Also threw on some 2.2 tires/rims. And also picked up a set of Venom shocks

the 2 screw hold the battery tray for the lights... kept the lights as an attached unit to the body

gonna dismantle it and paint the frame rails with some bedliner.. re-assemble and enjoy...

Was thinking about picking up a proline body and doing something like this with my PTI Goliath. Wannt make a mini clone of one of my xj's just can't decide which one, probably the 94 cause my 99 is of course the newer body style.
