I'm planning on picking up a trailer in the near future the closets legal place for my to wheel is at least 2.5 to 3 hours and i would rather not drive out there on TSLs all the time

I towed a Lifted Landrover Discovery for about 5 miles a few weeks ago and noticed the weight they are heavy but mine pulled it ok.

towing such a versatile vehicle takes the fun out of having a versatile vehicle such as an xj.
some people can say " i completed a red rated trail"
how many can say "i drove my jeep 400 miles to a red rated trail, completed it, then drove home, then to work the next day"?
build it right and carry the right spare parts and that should account for every trail break anyone will encounter.
I have aaa just incase.
one trip i stripped my dana44 ring gear in back (sorta asking for it on 37's) aaa home
then another trip i blew out a wheel bearing. had to wait the next morning for the parts stores to open.
i now have a stronger rear and carry a spare wheel bearing.
one trip a club member blew his engine 400 miles from home. I drove him to the nearest junkyard, we picked up a motor, and that night the entire club pitched in to help him install it at camp, he drove home the next day.
I guess driving my jeep to the trail is half the adventure, everyone in the club I'm in will go out of their way to help others out, never leave a man behind

as far as active members go we have one who tows their jeep
soft top yj with fullwidths, 360. he still drives it to the trails, every now and again he has a truck and trailer he can borrow for free and a few passengers and he uses it for the further runs/comps

I know this subject is back and forth with GOOD arguments on both sides... But why have a sweet built rig that has to be towed! Half the fun of wheeling is just being in your Jeep, weather it is on the way there or on the trail or on the way home. If you are driving to your wheeling spots with some big comfy truck you don't deserve to have a jeep! Jeep owners don't own jeeps for their comfort we own them because they are a JEEP (gas mileage is terrible the ride is not comfy-but you are in a JEEP)!!! It's a Jeep thing NOW understand!

I LOVE MY JEEP MORE THAN MY CAR!
