Default Help Gas in the oil?

MECHANIC FRIENDS!!! HELP!! HELP!!!! As most of you know, my beloved Daddy was a mechanic and as his only child, I would be right under a vehicle with him from the time I was old enough to walk. I can do most any repairs on all of my cars/trucks. Since my 2 back surgeries, Charles and my middle son, Johnnie have been doing all the work to keep the vehicles running......that being said, I have a problem I have never encountered before in my 50+ years of being around cars/trucks.....

I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma(that I should have sold years ago, because it has been nothing but a pain in our ***) It has a 4.3 liter engine and is a 4WD.....it had been running a bit rough for a couple of weeks, but not like it was going to fall apart, just idling rough. I checked the oil (WITHOUT MY GLASSES) and it looked low, I put a quart in it....it was still not running quite right, so after putting the code reader on it, it came up with a 'multiple misfire' code.......okay, no problem....until I tried to start it to go to the dump....It cranked, then thunked...it would not start...got it into the garage, drained the oil pan..gas was in the oil...pulled the plugs...gas ran out of the spark plug chambers....gas was running out of the spider....First thought, blown head gasket because it was a quart over full of oil...Charles pulled it down...

I bought a new gasket set, knowing that gas all over my gaskets was going to mess them up...Johnnie worked all day putting it back together....SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!!! So, tonight I pulled the plugs, gas ran out of 3 plug chambers, I unhooked the fuel pump relay and turned the engine to blow the gas out of the chambers...pumped oil into the chambers and turned the engine again to get the gas out of it...did it a second time, same thing...drained the oil, which was full of gas...pumped about a quart of oil into the spark plug chambers again to make sure that the cylinder walls were lubricated....WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY TRUCK!!!???? Are my injectors stuck open on the valves where the gas ran out of the spark plug holes?? Is my ECM bad??? If Daddy were still here, he would know the answer....ME, I'm at a loss :-( any ideas??????

Are you saying you saw gas running out of the spider? If so that is not normal. The two areas I have seen leak fuel are a cracked spider or the fuel pressure regulator leaking. The regulator is basically at the back of the spider. You are going to have to remove the upper intake and take another look at the regulator and spider.

How the spider works is that the injector distributes fuel to all six fuel lines. At the end of the fuel lines are poppet valves. When fuel pressure increases to a set point then the poppet valves open and spray fuel. These spiders are known for failures and its not too uncommon to find a cracked line, also common to break one when removing/installing. There is pressurized fuel in the spider lines so if one is cracked it will leak fuel.

honestly it sounds like your spider injector has gone bad. They are from what i know a standard problem with the 4.3l engine from gm.
