ahh brings me bck to the days when a friend of mine had a ford. i cant tell for shure but it would first guess the fuelpump or if its has dual tanks the selector valve went bad (thats what happened to my friends truck.. stuck in the woods for like a month till we got a bulldozer out there). turn it on and listen for the fuel pump. then try jumping it out (be careful) if you hear nothing. good luck

If the pump is running all the time, even if the engine is not running you're not building pressure, so either the bypass regulator is bad or the pump has crapped out.

When you turn the ignition on before you start the truck, the pump should run for a few seconds and stop when it builds pressure.

I'll bet the only thing that was allowing the worn out pump to keep pressure up was the crap built up in it. The silly seafoam washed out the crap and now it has too much clearance to build pressure. Change the pump.

this makes sense thanks, and could be the reason it searching for an idle also pressure than no pressure

Need to check fuel pressure. Either the fuel pump is not pumping enough fuel or the fuel pressure regulator is bad.

Change the regulator and the pump on a Ford. Another 20 bucks for the regulator is cheap insurance. I had one with a ruptured diaphram in the regulator and it was sucking fuel right into the intake from the vacuum hose.
