F250 coil poped out
Anybody ever see this happen on a stock F250 suspension? My customer drove over a speed bump the other day and his RF coil popped out of it's seat.
Here I have it on a lift at full droop and I can't even get it back in with out disconnecting the shocks.
How is this possible?

The silver spot is from the tire rubbing after it came out.
I had to disconnect the shocks and lower it a few to get the spring and factory rubber spacer back in.
Btw this is a solid axle.

must have been quite a speed bump... I've never seen a coil spring pop out from hitting a speed bump or pot hole... but that doesn't mean it isn't possible I guess.

There should be a retaining clip at the top and the radius arm bolt that runs through the axle should have a large washer to retain the spring at the bottom.

This is a solid axle. The spring just sits in there with no retaining clips kinda like or XJ's then again we do have one but it's not much.

but on a sirious note... i would check the axle for center. it could be shiffted to one side cuasing it to have extra stress or load pushing on that side. ive seen it happen becuase of that but if everything is fine then you got me stummped

I put the red ranchero's in it from ford a couple months ago. That's what came with it from factory.
So with axle extended it should shift to drivers side because of the track bar
hmmmmm.... This guy has me stumped on how that happened on a speed bump.

I call BS. He probably drove in a ditch or something and "flexed" it a little too much. I'm guessing the speed bump is just the story he's telling you to claim warranty work.

Forgot to mention that. He stopped when he realized there was a malfunction.
