its expensive but stick to proper bike oils
cbr, r6/1, gixers can suffer very badly from using the wrong oil.
im on my 53rd bike and about the same number of cars now.
yes i get bored easily lol
runninmg a triumph tiger 955i and a cbr1000fr at the moment.

Yamalube Did me Good I Guess, Just right at 50K I started have Clutch issues on the only bike I ran it in. The 2000 Yamaha Roadstar1600, But I could chalk that up to ridin it like a sport Bike, Ridin wheelies & trashin the Floorboards around every turn! But I got to thinkin........ What if I'd used Mobil1? is what it is & ALL The Other bikes are good on Clutches, replaced the 1 on my 2000 R1 @ bout 80Ish K.... Guess thats not a huge time Difference really... I put 60-70k a year on my bikes...
I run Valvoline 15w-40 Diesel in my TL1000R, they do fine with that since there aren't any fiction modifiers to screw up the clutch. Might also do you some good to bleed the clutch fluid, and set/clock your levers so they're comfortable for you. Might also suggest checking your tire pressure and fork seals for leaks; all other stuff mentioned as well.
Ride safe and try and keep the front wheel on the ground; you'll hit the ground eventually if you don't.

ok well I didnt want to start a different post on the same subject. so here it goes. I have the bike sitting in my garage and being it has been cold lately I havent been riding it much. it starts up just fine, runs great, but when I go to fill up or just plain turn the bike off to go inside, it doesnt start up after I shut it off. I have tried to pop the clutch and has been successful starting after but dies out in seconds. so I took the only other route I can think of, and jump it with my buddy's car. It worked great. so I drive it home park it in my garage, shut it off, wait a min and starts right up. so I let it sit till it cools down, it starts right up... I realize i may need a new battery. but why would it only do it once?

Prolly your batt... Usually when my buddies have problems like that I tell them to replace there battery first then check the rectifer then last check the stator..... If its cold out and there not on trickle charger that batt is gonna loose its juice for sure...I have a 06 600rr... If your not on dot net yet then you should join!! Good luck

yea thats what I was thinking too. I but a load tester on it and it said it was bad. but i put a meter on it and it read 12.6v. any reason why it would be like that?

Everything that's been mentioned is good advise. In addition u probly wanna buy urself a new batt and a Maintainer/float/trickle type charger and keep the bike plugged up when ur not riding it. U can pick one up @ WalMart for around 20 bux. Also, u didn't mention how many miles were on the bike, but it'll probly be dew a valve adjustment somewhere round 12-16,000 miles. U can pull the Cam cover and check the clearances urself, but if adjustments are needed u migh want to concider takin it to the dealer or a reputable service man. It can be done @ home by a competent do it urselfer but it's a long complex process and it requires that both cams come out of the engine at least a couple times and then u have to re-time everything. The reason for this is that the shims that are used to adjust the valve lash are under the buckets that ride under the cam lobes. Be careful on that thing. Be safe. Have a blast! If u havn't, take a MSF class.

YW man. The reason ur battery would be like that is called sulfatting i believe. I don't completly understand it, but if u replace it, no more Batt. worries. Have fun. Be safe. ATGAT!!!
