Any polaris I've played with is older than 2000, thats for sure.

My buddy had a special edition Grizz that had 880ccs, the thing was a completely beast. I couldn't get it stuck if I tried, in only 2wd! I deff would get a grizz if I had the choice.

i had a polaris scrambler 500 growing up ill stand by my word and say no problems whatsoever
now i have a yamaha kodiak 500 about 7yrs old still starts up like the day i got it so. i guess its whatever you choose ill say that both are good brands.
