I think my saturns transmission is going bad. I haven't checked the transmission fluid yet but will later today. But when i drive it at around 55 or 60 mph it does a tremor type thing. Has tremor feeling things repeatedly. The transmission doesn't give much power when i hit the gas. And when i'm taking a ramp onto a highway (you know how they turn sharp and you drive down them for like 30 seconds) it does weird stuff. Almost like its in nuetral. Also while i'm driving sometimes it sort of seems like it revs up, like it gets a punch of energy or something but that lasts for a second. Are these signs that the transmission is going bad?

 

Check the fluid first before you do any (more) damage to it. It might just be low.

Def check the fluid. My Dads Econoline did this when it would get low on fluid because it had a leak. I remember when he finally got around to working on fixing the leak my mom tried to pull the van out of the garage while it had no trans pan on it. Also when it was leaking really bad she got stuck in an intersection and couldnt move because it ran low.

 

Is you saturn a front wheel drive? If so I would also check the condition of the cv axles and boots.
