Default 93 F-350 Question

A buddy of mine just bought a 93 F-350 Diesel and he wants to get some new tires for it, he's buying new wheels so width and Backspacing doesnt matter but whats the biggest diameter you can fit stock, he was thinking 36's. It has 235/85r16.5's on it now but they look downright tiny.

On a stock 4x4 diesel f-350?! No cutting is needed to tuck 36s. Why would you need to cut anything? That's a solid axle setup most likely plus a diesel that suspension isn't going to be anything BUT firm and tall to handle the weigh of that motor!! I had a 95 powerstroke with 6 inches of suspension lift under mine and still cleared 41s. These are tall trucks man. My buddy has a 96 crew cab. 2" body lift and clears his 36s with PLENTY of room to spare. So yes I'm sure he can throw 36x13.50r16.5s on it and be just fine.

Well the idi might be a naturally aspirated motor but it still has plenty of torque, no worries there at all. They aren't turfs at all just don move out like a turbo'd 7.3. If your wanting pics of my truck I had then sure but it is only sitting on 38s in the pics I hav of it. I sold it with 38s and sold the 41s.

Well he already bought new wheels, soft 8's and he should be getting new tires in a little while. I'll see if I can get a picture or two.
