Im sure most of the folks here think that the 4.0 is a very nice engine. I saw a Pacifica the other day at the Wal- Mart that had a 4.0 badge on the back. Also a guy told me that they were put into vans. So were there any other vehicles that the 4.0 was put into. And for some reason, I want to think they are still being made in Europe. Well not the exact same thing, just a remake.

Ford also had a 4.0 v6...

 

Opps, ok was the 4.0 I6 engine put into anything else.

 

There are hundreds, probably thousands in use around the world running generators. It was based off of the AMC 4.2 6 cyl engine.

 

Got to love AMC! Buddy runs the 350 and is sounds soooo nasty!

 

amc did not make a 350.

 

The Cherokee (Wagoneer), Grand Cherokee, Comanche, and Wrangler.

 

From '56 to '91 AMC(Hudson/Nash/Rambler) made V8s in 250, 290, 304, 327, 343, 360, 390, and a 401 cu.in.. And you're right no 350.

Nope it is a "jeep" engine.

WE could blame the recent auto industry issues on reasons like this. Built a great engine but ONLY put it ina specific brand. Dakota''s and some 1/2ton rams should of had it aswell.

 

Wait didnt some of the mustangs have inline 6? Or is that a different engine then the one they put in the jeep?

 

These are the only vehicles that received the 4.0L...

 

With the exception of AMC, generally manufactures like ford,dodge,chevy dotn interweave thier parts.

so a chrysler wotn ahve for sutff, and amustang wont have chrysler stuff. so no a mustang never had a 4.0

 

The Mustang had 200 and a 250ci way back when. The Ford trucks used to use a 4.9L I6 as well.
