Default 2011 G Cherokee 1.9 vw swap

Hi folks, I am new to the forum. If I posted in a wrong spot let me know.
I intend to swap a alh vw tdi into a 2011 grand cherokee 3.6 with a auto trans. I know the work involved will be great.
I am a heavy equipment mechanic that specialises in wrecked rebuilds. The modifying of the motor mounts, trans adapter plate, etc etc will be no problem.
My thoughts. Has anyone swapped into a newer model like the 2011?
Option 1 - The perfect build would be to get a stand alone alh harness that would plug into a canbus interface module so I can hook right into the cherokee harness. This would take care of the elecrtric shift automatic trans.
Option 2 - Standalone alh harness and a older manual shifting jeep automatic trans. Replace the jeep dash with a gps for speed and a analog gauges for the important things.
Does anyone offer a interface for this new of cherokee?
Whats your thoughts? thanks

I personally wouldn't do the 1.9 TDI... the GC is almost a 5,000-Lb. vehicle (if NOT slightly over that), and you'll notice a huge reduction in power to pull that much weight. I would personally swap another 3.6 in if your current 3.6 is blown, or maybe try finding a Mercedes-Benz 3.0 CRD (IF you want a diesel) or 5.7 HEMI (or EVEN a 6.4 HEMI). Not sure how the W5A580 would take a 1.9 TDI, but it WILL work well with the 3.0 CRD (that's what the '06-'08 WK's had with the 'CRD' engine).

I understand that the Mercades engine would fit. However the Mercades is not the engine the vw alh is.
With proper tuning the alh can compete with the Mercades hp and torque. The vw will have better fuel mileage as well.
I am not looking to win any races. Thanks for the response though.

Personally, I haven't read anything about anyone swapping a 1.9TDI into a WK2. I know people have done it on XJ Cherokees and TJ Wranglers that originally had 4.0L I6's. I'm not sure if the newer 2.0TDI's have ever been swapped into a newer Jeep. You might want to look into the 2.8L VM Motori Turbodiesel I4 as well (like in the Jeep Liberty KJ). It's been offered in vehicles as new as the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon DuraMax Turbodiesels. VM Motori should still manufacture it.
