What do you guys think a 2000 wrangler is worth with a bad auto tranny. It has the 4.0 I6 and the jeep is basically stock. It has a hard top. The carpet has been taken out and this jeep isn't near perfect. It has seen mud and isn't clean and is a little beat up. It doesn't seem to have much rust though. It has 152,000 miles. Just wanted some opions of what it is worth. Thanks.
It's worth whatever amount you are willing to pay for it. For a reference current scrap value would be about $275. FYI if the transmission is bad, the motor can't be doing very well either.
Nice wranglers the same year go for about $9,000 in my area depending on what is done to them. Just wondered what the lowest a wrangler would be worth and scrap value doesn't help much. And it has the 4.0 so I'm not much worried about the engine either.
Well, obviously if it was clean & drivable with low mileage it would be worth more, the vehicle you described may be useful as a donor for parts i.e. value $300.
The hard top is worth more than that. I probabaly made the condition of it sound worse than it actually is.

I looked at a 1992 wrangler, rusted to complete hell, frame rot, I offered $400, the guy refused because it still ran, it was a major project. He was asking 2100$ obo, so Id guess he got about 1500$ as he seemed kinda firm on getting about $2000. If you part it out you can make some major money, $300-$500 for the hard top, $100 a door $50 for the hood, $50-75 a fender if theyre in good shape and so on. You can part out a Wrangler really fast, and then you can still sell it to a Junk yard for probably $250, as most Junkyards Ive seen are very protective over their Wranglers.
Being a reasonable person Id say about $1000, if you can prove it drives (even if onto a trailer) id bet $1500 if youre patient.
