kinda the "D family has a TON of interchangeable parts, however they are also different and tweaked in different ways. I am not saying any of them are bad. But i have seen more then a couple D16y7/8 oil pumps fail. I haven't seen any other D series oil pumps fail. but could just be what I have seen...

Glad to see it came with a new oil pump. some manufactures do some don't. just want to make sure its a sound investment. I've seen people spend tons of money and overlook the pump and have to rebuild AGAIN 5k ish miles later... lol anyhow enjoy it should run a long time!

as far as a used engine, Its never as good as a new engine, just a good cost effective alternative. but slightly rolling the dice to how long it would last or if it has been abused (99% of Honda's are) didn't want you to over look the option is all. sounds like you have it all covered and are doing it the proper way!

look on craigslist for a bigger motor or same one those motors around me sell for 200 and less in running condition and less than 150k miles id swap it with a k24a8 what i did with mine i got the motor from importer in knoxville tennessee and rest swap off ebay for 2300 the motor was only 450 and have a great reliable fast car love it.
