1995 Civic Possible Engine Knock - Video Attached
Basically when the car is running, in drive or reverse, and stopped i hear a consistent knock when sitting inside the car (Its quiet enough where the radio must be off to hear it good). If i put my foot on the break and give it a little gas the noise increases speed with the engine speed. The noise is also slightly louder when the car has warmed up. However I cannot hear the knock when i am outside of the car (while its in drive). If its in park and I rev it to the like 3000 rpm i hear a rattling/knock only as the rpm slightly increases or decreases in the 3000 rpm range.
When the car is idle in park whether your inside the car or not warmed up or not. You cannot hear any knocks. The engine runs smooth and i really hope its not a wrist pin or bearing knock.
Here is a video clip of it
Thanks
-Mike

Well if it defiantly is an internal knock it's cheaper to just buy another motor than to start replacing things. (after gaskets, bearings, probably have to have the crank cut you are just in it for way more than you should be).

Yeah the car runs great, starts right up, vtec kicks in LOL. I sat my sister in the car and asked her if she has ever heard the noise and how long has it been happening for. Shes was definitely unsure, and said probably like a year, but never listened for it, or thought anything of it really so i got like an iffy answer from her.
It needs two front fenders and a bumper, and the a/c doesnt work. Easy stuff but Idk if I would even drop a motor in it. If the motor were to blow I would it probably part it for a few bucks than junk it. But its a nice car to have and i really would like to keep it but i just cant figure this knock out.
Everyone I talk to is just like Run it til it blows brotha!! but thats not my stlye, I wanna know what the deal is cuz I am not interested in being stranded on the side of the road!
Thanks

Sounds like an engine knock, it can seize at any time if it's bearing related or it can run for a while.
Your average Honda kid doesn't have a clue what they are talking about; it's mainly them passing on what they've read or heard. Half of them would probably be hard pressed to change their oil.
