Compressor's broken, pieces are rattling on the front. Needs to be replaced. Can i just by pass it with a shorter belt for now? Anyone else have to do this? Anyone know the length by any chance?

You should be able to. Just go to your auto parts store and get the non-ac belt for the same year car and motor.
