today for my 96 xj i made these shock mounts today out of the stock ones of my 8.25

i don't have all the steps pictured but its pretty straight forward. this mod will help with the annoying little hang ups on your shock mounts when crawling rocks. it also looks really good to!

You will need a torch or sawzall, or a cut off wheel, a 3" hole saw, and a welder. IF YOUR NOT A GOOD WELDER I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS!!!


step 1: Cut the stock mounts of as high up as you can without cutting the u-bolts and the axle




NEXT...

Step 2: Use your 3" hole saw to put the curve of the axle int the mount. test fit on axles before you weld and make sure everything is straight and curves around the tube well.



THEN....

Step 3: Weld and paint the mounts on to the tube and mount your shocks. and your ready to clear some rockz0
