Default RC Shackle Relocation Brackets

So Here is a write up on the new Rough Country Shackle Relocation Brackets.

First what you need is just your average hand tools:

and the only good thing for cinder blocks, tire chalks:

You probably purchased these cause your shackle angle looks like this:

Taking some before measurements:

Next observe your hardware an make sure it is all accounted for:

Loosen your shackle bolts, BP blaster may be required for some rusty bolts (if you have that sort of thing). I used a breaker bar and it made quick work.

Remove your shock bottom bolt

Jack up the jeep and remove the shackle:

Next instal the box:

And the front nut strip:

Tighten it all down:

Next install the bottom bracket:

and torque everything down to spec(yes a torque wrench is a basic hand tool!!!):

Find your optimum shackle position and instal:

After Measurements:

Then admire the jeep and figure out how much lift your front end needs:

Then go find an RTI ramp or a loading dock and measure for the new shocks

So after getting in my new shocks I did some substantial testing in the high speed desert trails, the rocky and off-camber mountain trails and the ride to the weekend picnic spot, I have determined that this is a GREAT upgrade.

Here are my thoughts:

The Rough Country Shackle Relocation bracket offers a few things over the stock position in that you gain not only your ride quality back 10 fold; the rear just glides over bumps and smooths out the ride. It also gives you the adjustability to change the shackle position depending on the load you are carrying to help level the ride out as well. The regained axle droop is a very nice feature to have back while on the trail to make sure the tires stay planted at all times and it is nice knowing that the solid construction will withstand all that you throw at it.

I would recommend this product to anyone with an improper shackle angle!
