A/C pump converted to OBA (renix 4.0)
Parts list:
*(1) 5 gallon tank (harbor freight portable tank, comes with pressure release valve, & pressure gage)
*(1)1/4" inline air filter
*(1) 1/4" inline oiler ("fogger")
*(1) quick release air fitting
*(2) male/male 1/4" fittings
*(1) female/female 3/8" fitting
*(1) 1/4" female/female/male T fitting
*(1) 2" long bulkhead
*(1) 15'-20' foot length of air hose (most come with the quick release fitting)
*(1) 12v toggle switch
*(1) 5'-10' foot length of 10 gage wire ( (3)electrical crimp connectors, & heat shrink also needed)
*(2) hose clamps
*teflon tape
EDIT: *(1) 3'-4' foot of stainless steel braided teflon line (male/female)
The first step is to make sure the old compressor even works. Do so by disconnecting the power wire on the A/C pump. Start the jeep, & tap the wire connected to the pump to the batterys positive terminal. If the clutch in the pumps pulley turns it works.
The second step is to take your Jeep to a shop to have the freon drained out. It is very harmful, & is against the law to drain into the atmosphere! (This should not be taken lightly)
Third, use a hack saw to cut the A/C freon lines about 1 1/2" away from the fittings on the back of the pump. (the 1 1/2" of pipe to the pumps fittings will be use, so don't cut it to short!) The condenser, freon cylinder, & lines to the firewall can be cut & discarded. (sorry no pics)
Fourth, carefully tread a 1/4" male fitting into the larger intake line of the pump (closest to the motor.) Then tread the 3/8" female fitting onto the smaller outlet side. Remove both fittings, put some teflon tape on the treads, & reinstall.
(use the quick release fitting to help tap it strait.)
Fifth, put together intake side in this order; inline filter, 1/4" male/male, inline oiler, to your new male fitting on the pump. teflon tape the treads of each piece.
Sixth, install male fitting on the air hose to the female/female 3/8" fitting, & run hose along the length of the frame. Secure hose to the frame. (I used hose clamps with self tapers threw the extra threads on the hose clamp... I'm cheap lol)
EDIT: went back and used 3-4 foot of high temp stainless steel braided teflon line from the pump to just behind the lower control arm. Any local hose maker can make it for you for between $20-$40! (updated pictures coming soon)

I used zip ties in the holes for the e brake hanger springs that I no longer use.
Seventh, Dill a hole with a small bit right above the fuel filter. Push a screwdriver threw the hole to push up the carpet a little. Find the screwdriver on the top side, & cut an X in the carpet to mark the spot. Haha then use a step bit to fit the bulkhead threw the body.
Kinda back behind there, but it works, & it tucked away nicely!

Eighth, cut your hose to the right length for your application, & routing. Hose clamp it on the bulkhead fitting. (sorry no pics, self explanatory at this point)
Ninth, on to the tank, mounting, & fittings. Drill 4 holes in the base/legs of the tank for mounting with self tapping screws. Figure out roughly where you want the tank mounted, then pull the plastic side panel away from the body to see where there is metal to screw into. Mark you holes, & thread the self tapers. Install the the tank using the 4 self tapers.
I then made a strap & bent it around the tank. Used 2 more self tappers to mount that to the side panel.
Tenth, uninstall the hose that came on the air tank. install the T fitting to the tank. Install the regulator onto one end of the T fitting. Install the quick release on the opposite side of the T, & install the threaded fitting of the hose to your regulator.

Eleventh, run the hose to the top side bulkhead, cut as needed, & hose clamp it.
Finally, hook up the electrical by running a power wire either off of you ACC port on the fuse block or directly off of the battery to a 10amp fuse, then to the toggle switch. Now run a wire to the black wire coming off of your A/C pump you disconnected earlier.
Start the engine, & let the tank fill to about 100psi. Then follow the system front to back checking for leaks. Fix as needed
Enjoy

Ran it to air up all four tires over the weekend, & had the output hose on the pump blow out due to heat. I'll come back & edit the wright up as I work out any other kinks.

So after this little mishap! I went to our local hose shop. They ship anywhere in the US www.houseofhose.com
I had them make this 4' (foot) male/female 1/4" fittings "Push Loc hose" good for 220 degrees, & 300psi! $16.00
Luckily I had kept the other half of the original hose, so I just pulled the blown hose out. Then replaced from the new push loc female fitting back to the bulk head with that previously cut air hose.
Push loc male fitting goes into the output on the pump, & we are back in business!
BTW using a 1/2" impact gun on the trail rocks!
