zj lift kit question
I have a 98 zj limited i6 awd. I want to know if this lift kit will fit on my jeep?
http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_zj_3.html
My jeep has cv axles in the front. from what I read on the lift it will not work. However, I read somewhere that it will. I need to get this resolved, so looking for your responses.
Thanks in advance.

It's not talking about your axle CV's, it's talking about a drive-shaft with CV joints instead of U-joints. ZJ's came with both types of front drive-shafts.

i know its a decently priced lift but take me word for it , this lift is junk , my current zj came with this lift and it is terrible ride quality and the shocks are junk, the entire lift has so many crap components, i took it out and put in the IRO 7" long arm, just my 2 cents though

I don't think so, as both the old type 3 (CV equipped) and the new type 1 (u-joint, slip-yoke,dust-collar equipped, w/grease fitting) drive-shafts have the double cardan rear joint. The type 2 drive-shaft will also work as a replacement but it only has a slip yoke w/boot in the middle of the shaft and no grease fitting.
I had it done at a shop, so I'm not positive if they replaced the rear yoke or not. But the pics show what I stated above.

Ok. My jeep has the front drive shaft with the cv on the front opposite the transfer case. If I go to the junk yard, what do I need to look for? New to this so don't flame me too bad.

You need a drive shaft from another ZJ with a u-joint instead of a cv at the axle and you need the yoke off the axle as well.
