ZJ with a AW4
Are there certain years that have the AW4 transmission?
Do they only come with the ones with a straight 6?
Also. Is there a big difference in the gas mileage between the straight 6 and the 5.2? My search came up with mixed results.
Thanks

Yeah. I figured some might not read the other post because of how common the title is. I've done a decent amount of research but havent come up with anything specific besides some people saying there are some out there. Sorry if it bugs you.

Early 93's had the aw-4 behind the 6-cyl.
The V-8's got the Chryco trannies.. and the 6's after early 93 got Chryco trannies.
The Chryco's behind the 6's were the problem trannies in the ZJ's... the 42RE to be specific. But the V-8's didn't get the 42RE.
The difference between a 6 and 8 on MPG isn't that big. The difference between the AWD's and regular 4wd however is a couple of MPG.

Do you know if there is any way to determine which ones have it or dont...short of crawling underneath?
And hows is the reliability of the trans that come with the V8 without the full time 4WD?
