YAYYY and *sigh*
Whats up everyone?
ok, here's my deal. My poor 93 grand cherokee has been sitting in the driveway for over a year. Last time I drove it I had many many voltage issues! Today I changed, the battery, the alternator, AND the computer since the bad voltage fried the last one. I turned the key and after sitting for over a year it starts right up just as easy as if I drove it yesterday! Runs PERFECT!!! But now on to the issue...
I really thought all that would have fixed my old problem.... Between cold and fully warmed up the gauge in the dash reads 13v-14v. But after running for a good half hour it states 10v-12v at the gauge and if I try reading it with a multimeter through accessories. BUT at the battery its still 14.4-13.5!!!
I believe this is what keeps burning out comps, batteries, and alternators. All connections are clean and tight, all the stuff is new! WHAT AM I MISSING?!?!

The only thing I can possibly think of is something is heating up and drawing alot of power. I really dont think i can help you, but u might want to get a lil tool called a "fuse buddy" It plugs in just like a normal fuse, but tells you what current draw is in amps. Maybe fuel pump heatin up and drawing alot of power?

You have no real problem, the gauge on the dash is not as accurate as a DVOM at the battery. As long as you have between 13 to 14.5 volts at the battery, you'll be fine.

Busted's right! My 97 occasionally shows me 0 volts but battery stays a 14 or so. If I slam the dash with my fist, it will come back on and read right. I probably need anger management! I've got a new thing. If I turn off my rear window defroster, my doors lock!

your gauge is the culprite, it may or may not be a problem. If it is useing another circuit for ground there in would lie your problem
