wj 4wd awd?
i would take a full time any day, you lose some things but you gain grip. the Subaru i had was awd and running down back country roads going 60+ i never thought twice about it. got in my friend car that was 2wd and about hit a tree comming around a 30o trun and he had AT tires on it.
but that is just me

To help you out here some info for you
When it first came out in 1999 the quadra-trac was standard on laredo and limited with a V8 and selec trac was not a option.
In 2000 the awd Quadra-trac was standard on limited but optional on laredo models.
SO if you find a 1999 with a v8 it will come with the permanat 4wd system anything 2000 could have the select trac system which is what you want.
Just so you know jeep shows that 82% of jeeps that were order with the V8 option also was odered with the permanat 4wd Quadra-trac so finding one with selec will be hard.
Here is a sight with good info for you.

well i'm not getting a full-time or awd bc its a dd. its not for offroad, at least for a while. i don't trust it and what's the point of it except to hog down even more gas than it already does?
The quarda trac isnt a bad thing but for me i have just had horrible results with it.
We take both of our wj's out all the time on the trails and with my wifes 99 v-8 with the quadratrac we have went trough 2 transfer cases already because the viscus coupling seems to always go bad and then makes it impossible to drive it around town since it acts like Part time 4wd and hops and jerks trying to turn since its not letting the front and rear diff turn at diff speeds.
With my 00 4.0 WJ that has selec trac i have never once had a problem and i have about 50k more mileage then she does.
SO not saying that quadra trac is bad i just havent had good results with it.
