I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 4.7. When i traded for this it sound like there was a bad tire come to find out there rear end needed rebuilded one of the races had a bad spot got it rebuild cost 800 and then put about 300 miles on it .now have a whinning noise not sure if coming form its either rear end or transmission it has 195,500 miles on it .it shifts hard some times and if go to merge in traffic and give gas it takes few mins to down shift and go.Thinking about having transmissing rebuilt but want to be able to push on gas and go not wait for it to down shift then go would add more clutchs solve this issue or removing them be solution

 

 

what work was done to the differential? New gears & Bearings?

All the bearings have been replaced

 

$800 for bearings and labor??? Yikes! Well is the whining noise on the gas, off the gas, while floating the throttle to maintain a certain speed?

It's when u give gas and it's a stead it a low when when let off gas
