Hey all, new here and to jeeps in general. About 6 months ago I picked up a 1996, Grand Cherokee Laredo with the inline 6, 220k miles. Ran strong for a few months and was out of service for a few months. Finalllyy shes up and running turned out to be the computer.
Now she needs new wheel bearings, now im not mechanically inclined whatsoever but what else should I check while wheel bearings are getting done? Anything that is a MUST? I have some pretty sloppy steering to the point where I don't feel like I should go past 70.
But also just anything in general i should check really. I was also debating on putting on a new TPS, just because I feel like 1-30 is pretty sluggish, I feel like i basically have to have my foot to the floor to really get her to have some power, really only at the low speeds. Heard this can be part of the problem, but I know these aren't meant for speed.
Some new things on it.
computer
Spark plugs, wires
distributor and distributor cap
Ignition coil
idle air control valve
Radiator
Transmission cooler lines
crankshaft position sensor
Alternator
And some other things I can't remember at the moment.
i live in a small mountain town in California, known for being "The heart of the rubicon" and we get a bunch of snow, so I'd like to be able to depend on this for the winters at the least.
