I just recently got me a 1994 JGC Limited and it has the 5.2L v8(Hoover vacuum..eats gas) Anyways i was wanting to know What are the typical shift points for the Auto Trans. and if this truck has a torque converter lock up. it shifts though 1.2.and 3 fine but when i hit around 40MPH (roughly) it drops down about 300 rpm and i dont know if thats the TCLU or the 4th gear when im going around 65mph or so im reving at about 3krpm is this normal. this is my first jeep i dont know lot about them i have always driven fords. some one please enlighten me and let me know if this iis normal or if there is a problem

 

3 k at 65 seems a bit high. I don't think your getting into over drive. or its not lockin. I would have to take mine for a drive to recheck. I don't drive it much its a toy, that my kids feel is theres to use now we have snow. It the TC is not locking properly it would certainly use more gas.
