Look to buy a WJ, and need your advice. Saw the jeep and loved it. everything was perfect about it. But whats your opinion on price?

Check it out really really good. Go for a long test drive. I work for a dealer and go to auctions and 5k is about the wholesale for that. He should be asking more if he's making a profit. If he is profiting at 5k then either he is a really sharp buyer or there is something up with the vehicle.

I think the fact that the dealer is located on Eight mile rd. might have something to do with the price. Ask for a Carfax history on it, and check the VIN #s on the dash, door tag, and core support, as well as the title and carfax report, to make sure they all match. Better safe than sorry.

If it's in good shape it's probably worth mid 5's. I paid 4500 for my 01 limited with 143k, but it needed tires. I use KBB private party value as a guide as to what I should pay.

 

Do i need to pay attention to the transfer case on this WJ? Kinda confused about that or anything else I need to look at for these SUV's.
