Default What is the best GC year to buy?

The wife is getting one in a few months and I have heard to steer away from year 00' due to the head cracking if they overheat. I have a 1992 xj and want some info to pass along. Thanks.

I have a 99 wj 4.7L as my DD & I love it! The only problem I've had in the 2.5 years I've had it is the front driveline went out, & the front CV boots ripped! Other than that its ran great for 280K miles!!!

Thanks for the info! I would assume that you have the 8 cyl and not the 6 cyl? Any other info would be great on gas mileage. I did test drive a used one about two months ago up North in WI but it needed too much work. My 1992 xj has had just TLC for probs to get it drivable. I am also looking for the side mount cut holders for my xj and understand the GC have them? My wife will get a GC in a couple of months. thanks.
