Do all grand Cherokee have this what is it ?? Looks like a mini antenna

 

That appears to be an aftermarket remote start antenna. My 95 XJ has one too, but above drivers side visor

 

There is a thing that say on a sticker it's equipped with aftermarket remote start on engine but where would they mount the stuff

i talked to a guy who used to install them cause my zj has it too lol he explained it was for the whole old shool car phone setup lol

 

its for remote start, im 99.9% sure anyway. All there would be is a little brain (like the little "box"/controller for an alarm system), the antenna you have pictured and a remote. Then it just electronically tells the xj to start. I didnt get the remote w mine either, but if u locate the brain(sometimes it IS part of the aftermarket alarm system) you can probably order one and have it programmed at a Car Audio store.

if you scroll to entry 5, picture 4 shows a very similar looking antenna

 

read this after my last post. If he talked to a guy who installed them, he very well could be right. but it may be for an remote start too, since i have the exact same antenna, yet i know xj's didnt come w cell phone options in 95.
either way, its for something you dont have/have use of anymore and they didnt wanna take the headliner down to take the cord out probably

yeah i know he does, I was referring to my XJ, however that link you posted, those mount on the outside of the window and sticks up, while the other box shown in the pic attaches to the cable and is stuck on the glass exactly where the antenna is stuck to the glass, only inside. but the one you have in your ZJ very well may be a similar antenna for a cell phone, not sure.

 

yeah mines inside on the very rear driver side window i was also told they was a 2nd part that was mounted out side lol ill tell ya it had me baffled i thought it was a heat sensor or something lol maby even a sat antenna lol
btw you may be right because from here it looks to be mounted on his wind shield

 

It's mounted on inside of windshield and on inside of the hood there's a sticker saying this car has remote start. I traced the wires and found the brain or sensor and all the wires looked chopped so I highly doubt it works I called previous owner he said he didn't put one on it was there since he had it and he had it since 2000 lol so i doubt it works! I pulled it off it was driving me crazy being there! So I cut it and gonna take to a car audio place to get the rest removed because whoever installed did awful job
