weird turning problem

my dad has an 97 zj laredo 4.0 and when we make lefts it sounds like it is going to die and died completely one time it seems as if it inst getting fuel any ideas?

is it full time 4wd? it could be the viscous coupler in the t-case. they have a common problem of failing causing binding in the driveline.
if it's not, check and make sure it's not in part time 4wd.

Ya mine only did that in 4wd with my 242. After I went to my 231 no more problems. My chain was stretched and it was slipping off my gears on my 242 and it was binding up
