I have a 08 cherokee. The blower motor sounds strong but there's very little air coming out of the vents. I took out the glove box but can't figure out the problem.

 

Weak blower? This may sound stupid, but have you first checked to make sure the vents are open?

 

Not stupid at all. Yes. The vents are open. I thought maybe a vent hose was off but everything looks ok under the dash. It comes out of the vents ice cold but it just trickles out. Same for the defrost.

 

maybe a stuck blend door in the off position? just an idea.

What would cause the blend door to stick and how wold I fix it. That's exactly what it seems likes happening.

 

Well the blend door is controlled by vacuum so it could be a vacuum leak, bad switch, or stuck/broken blend door. If that is what is happening.

So I took a look at it and it's machanical. The motor that opens and closes the blend door is working. It seems the blend door is stuck. Do you know if I need to remove the blower motor to to try and open it or is there another way that you know of to manually open it to get it working?
