Default Water pump

So 97 grand cherokee 5.2 had the water pump go out so i bought a new 1 and just got done filled the system and started no leaks.shut it down and it starts dripping from under the water pump area on the crank.this a def part?i even went in the torq order please help.

It could be the timing cover. When a friend and I did the water pump, we did that with the chain. The wter pump is right on top of the cover too.

I don't think so cause it is dripping off the middle of the harmonic bal.
