2001 Grand Cherokee Limited 6Cly, Automatic.
Went out the other morning attempted to start Jeep and would only turn over by starter, no fire, no life.
Indications:
·Fuel Level on Empty – Had ½ tank the night before
·SKIS light on constant after light check
Troubleshooting:
·Checked fuses and relays – All appear good.
oEven checked by jumpering power contacts
·Checked fuel pressure – none !
oThe first check I did was to see if power was getting to the pump – disconnected plug just before sending unit attached to frame. Power was getting to Fuel Level but not to Fuel Pump.
oJumpered Fuel Pump Relay to energize Fuel Pump Fuse – fuel pressure came up and the rail was pressurized but still wouldn’t start. – SLIM light was still on constantly and no fuel level.
·Connected Scan Tool to OBDII connection – cannot see computer
oAssumed PCM inop, ordered a new (reman) PCM programmed for my Jeep (VIN and all) and no joy, same indications, same results.
·Checked power to computer – Good.
The only problem I had before this was after the Jeep was run for a while and was restarted within 20-30 mins (running around town type stuff) it was hard to start. It would start but would run very rough and would only clear up after rolling in drive for a short distance then would be fine. We never had a wouldn’t start problem before this.
ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ????

Welcome to CF. JMO but it sounds like you're having an issue with the SKIS system preventing the vehicle from starting.
Here's some more information about the SKIS system: http://www.wjjeeps.com/sentry.htm
